The Storyteller, the Mystery Pill, and Richard’s Convenient Silence
The Storyteller started a fight at Richard Cranium’s house, and in the middle of the chaos, he casually dropped that he takes Dreamer’s medicine. Naturally, that set off every alarm bell we have.
So off we go for a drug test. Not because we actually believed he was taking his sister’s meds, but because if a kid claims they’re on something, we have to check.
Turns out, he wasn’t taking Dreamer’s medication. But he did test positive for Darvocet, a painkiller we absolutely do not have in our home.
So now we have a different problem.
The Storyteller says he was given a pill at 6:30 AM by Jessica because his throat hurt. He told the doctor the same thing. The problem? Darvocet was pulled from the market in 2010.
Then the police show up to talk to The Storyteller. And suddenly, this kid—who normally cannot shut up to save his life—goes completely silent. Won’t say a word. Suddenly, nothing happened.
How convenient for Richard.
Richard’s Next Genius Move: Accusing Rebecca
So now Richard has a theory. Clearly, Rebecca must be drugging the kids.
Right.
Not the woman who literally handed The Storyteller a pill at 6:30 AM. Not the house where every terrible decision happens. No, let’s pin it on Rebecca, because why not?
DFS? They do nothing. The police? They just file it as a citizen complaint, which is cop-speak for “not my problem.”
So What Now?
Do we have to start drug testing the kids before and after every visit? That’s not fair to them. They aren’t in trouble, and they shouldn’t feel like they are. But how else do we prove what’s happening?
Meanwhile, Richard and Felicia get away with another dumbass decision, The Storyteller gets stuck in the middle of it, and we’re left trying to untangle the mess they created.
But hey,
